Things to keep in mind while wedding dress shopping

Wedding dress shopping is so exciting! If youre like me, I always dreamed of the day I would get to find my dress. I still love watching "Say Yes to the Dress". But when you watch future brides find their dress on tv or you fantasize about finding yours, I guarentee you don't think about how tiring that day is going to be.

Now maybe you will be one blessed bride and find your dress in the first store with just trying on two or three dresses! I hope you do! But the odds of that happening are very slim. So hopefully these tips will help prepare you for wedding dress shopping.

Your onterage 

Decide who you want to take with you, but keep in mind sometimes the more people you have with you can result in you feeling overwhelemed and unable to choose your dress.

Maybe you want the cousin that tells it like she sees it and you know she will be honest about what she thinks....if you do then ask her to go. But just remember your opinion is the one that matters most.

Double Check Covid regulations

A lot of Wedding dress shops have a limit on the amount of people a bride can take with her, and since covid these numbers have changed at a lot of places. So when you call to make your appointment, always be sure to ask how many people you can have with you.

Eat before and bring snacks

Trust me, the last thing you want is to be hangry while your wedding dress shopping. Make sure you eat a good breakfast and take snacks in case your appointments don’t allow you the time to grab food. You will be glad that granola bar was there to hold you over until the day was through. 

Don’t get discouraged or Settle

If you try on 10 dresses at three different stores and still feel like none of those dresses are the one, don’t worry. There’s always another day and other stores. Never settle for a dress just because you feel like your not going to find one you love. It will happen at the right store. 

Try on different styles

You may go in thinking you know exactly the style and shape you like, but I strongly would encourage you to try at least three different shape of dresses. Try the A line dress or the trumpet style you don’t think you like. You just never know how you will look in a certain shape until you try and you may change your mind of what your looking for. 

I hope the day you go to find your dress is full of fun. As it should be, just enjoy the day. There’s only a certain time period in your life you get to explore your visions you had as a little girl.
